Liebster Award...

I was nominated by Luis, Casey and Helen
So, how does this work? Beats me. Let’s find out!
According to my three nominators, it goes something like this:
You got the Award, now what?
- I list 11 random facts about myself.
- I will answer the 11 questions asked of me by the person who nominated me.
- I will then nominate my 11 picks for the award along with my 11 questions for them to answer when they post a response.
- If you’re nominated, your name/link will appear at the bottom of this post along with your questions. Follow the same format; paste the award badge to your blog, give us 11 random facts about yourself, answer my 11 questions, and choose your nominees…but you cannot nominate the blog who nominated you.

Thank you Luis, Casey and Helen for nominating me. That’s the nicest thing I can say at the moment. I’m prepared to argue with Blogger at 4 o’clock in the morning. *grumbles*

Here are my 11 facts (I am so not doing 33 facts AND 33 questions. Even I’d get tired of me then!)

1)      I alphabetize EVERYTHING (Spices, movies, cereals, books, music, canned goods…)

2)      I am still a “Tomboy” but even I enjoy a good Princess Tea Party with the toddler or a “Spa Day” with the teen

3)      My favorite thing about Spring, Summer & Fall is all of the backyard bonfires we have and go to. Fire, beer, family, friends, roasting wienies and marshmallows – good times and tons of memories

4)      When I cook from scratch – I don’t measure

5)      My favorite color is orange, unless it’s hockey season, then I think horrible things when I see the color orange…

6)      I was born in Virginia

7)      I love the smell of snow. I love snow. Just dislike how cold it’s got to be for it to appear

8)      6 years ago I donated 17inches of my hair to Locks Of Love (may hair was super long)

9)      I make my own candles

10)  I love Johnny Depp. (I love several others, but this love…goes way back.)

11)  I am one of those weird people who does not eat popcorn of any kind and even hates the smell of it!

So there’s my facts…

Now there’s 33 questions begging to be answered.

Yes you read that correctly. 33

Here are the questions from Luis (that annoying little brother type of guy. Kidding about being annoying…maybe…. <3)

1. What do you think about when you hear the word ‘Book’?

That hopefully it’s a story to suck me in and make me forget about the real world for just a while.

2. In one word, describe a book you love.

3. What animal do you fear the most?

Actually I fear insects more than animals but I suppose if I had to pick one it would be Skunks – pee uuuuu!

4. Favorite time of day to read?

            Any chance I get

5. Coffee person? If yes, do you drink it with milk, cream or just plain? If not. What do you drink instead?

Coffee addict. I’ll take it with milk and a little bit of sugar or with flavored cream, just not black. Mmmm….I think I’ll go start my coffee pot now, as it’s 4:30 in the blasted morning.

6. Have you published a book? If yes, share the name and a link! Brag! If not, are you working on one that’s on it’s way to a sea of sharks?

Not yet. I can’t yet. Thanks for that – yes I am (it’s being edited now!)

7. Favorite candy and why?

Sour Patch Kids – sweet and sour ?

8. Tell us, what inspired you to become a writer/blogger in one or two sentences?

Uh…I honestly have no idea. I just had an idea and went with it finally.

9. Every beginning has an end. Do you prefer a happy ending or one that just satisfies?

My end is unwritten, but I wouldn’t want it labeled. The end is THE END, it’s real. Happy – sad – messed up – flat, it’s real. That’s all that matters.

10. If I pay for you to go anywhere in the world with someone, where would you go and who would you go with?

There are several ways that I could answer that. One: Go to Scotland with whoever wanted to come along. Two: Go see Emma in the UK with my youngest (she’s obsessed with seeing pictures of Emma and her daughter.) Three: You and I go to some place warm and edit/revise/write our brains out and do whatever we feel like – because face it, it’s vacation and we could get each other into a lot of trouble! Four: you can pay for my “never had a honeymoon” honeymoon…but I have no idea where.

11. What is a dream you have and always keep alive?

The awesome Casey’s questions-

  1. Why do you blog?

Because my wonderful friend told me to lol

  1. What would be your dream job, regardless of how much money you made?

What I do now :)

  1. Why do people say LOL'd when obviously that's just weird?

I don’t really know the answer to this question. But yea it’s weird. I once read a book that said LOL instead of expressing laughter. I remember I liked the book regardless, I just don’t remember which book. Oopps.

  1. Coffee, tea, or water? And why?

Any will do. But I prefer coffee…just sorta-kinda my addiction

  1. What's your theme song? If you don't have one, then why not?!

Lately it’s Rip Tide by Sick Puppies

  1. Are you a writer, reader, strictly blogger, or a mesh of all three?

Writer and reader

  1. What was your favorite book growing up and why?

I didn’t really get into reading that much until my 9th grade year of High School

  1. If Hulk picks up Thor, and Thor is holding his hammer - has Hulk picked up the hammer?

By technicality, I think

  1. Is there something you do every day out of habit, but is unnecessary? (e.g. check twitter as soon as you wake up)

I have no idea at the moment.

  1. Do you wear socks to bed?

  1. Favorite movie starring Bruce Willis...GO!

Only one? Rats! Umm…any of the Die Hard movies. Oh! Or Armageddon! I also liked The Jackal too. Oops, sorry. More than three – someone smack my naughty fingers.

The wacky, amazing, awesome, one-of-my-favorite-people-on-the-planet Helen’s questions!

1. Favorite flavor of ice cream?
Because of my weird allergies it depends on the brand. But I usually stick with vanilla to be safe
2. If you could give a copy of your book to any famous person, who would it be and why?
I don’t have an actual book yet. I don’t know who I’d give True Connection to though.
3. How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
An annoying amount
4. If you could pick a person to play one of the central characters in your story, who would it be?
I am horrible at this. But I have pictured Helena Bonham-Carter in one of my WIP’s
5. What was the last song you couldn't get out of your head?
Yellow Submarine by The Beatles (Thank you – it’s back again)
6. On days you don't feel like cooking, what is the first thing you think of getting for take out?
Subway (mmm…)
7. Dogs or cats?
Either. But I have a polydactyl cat who was bred to be a mouser and is terrified of mice
8. If you could go on a writing retreat to anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Some place that is warm. And sandy. Warm meaning anything about 82 degrees Fahrenheit
9. What is the best book you read in 2012?
I’ve read so many last year that most of them blur together forming this weird, extra long book in my head. Several stand out such as Mythology and Light of the Moon but I’ll give you two of my favorites. They’re part of series books but aren’t the first in the series. Lean On Me by Claudia Hall Christian and Dissever (Discern Saga) by Samantha Shakespeare
10. What is your favorite rock band from the 80's?
Aerosmith and ZZ Top
11. Tell us your short pitch for your WIP.

Um…You’re putting me on the spot. Read True Connection if you like cuties, wit, pranks, new creatures, danger, kisses and love. I honestly can’t think of anything creative at the moment. I’ve not had enough coffee!

Because I’m not THAT fun, I am not choosing 11 people. I will post 11 questions and if you want to answer them then do it. If not, don’t worry about it.

  1. What is your least favorite condiment?
  2. Do you meditate? If yes, tell me how! Please?
  3. If you have a radio or iPod or something near by, turn it on. Tell me the very first song that plays (without skipping songs or stations).
  4. What is your middle name and is there a story of why your parents chose it?
  5. If given the chance, would you meet me for coffee?
  6. What is your favorite Dr. Seuss book?
  7. What is the first thing you do after you read a book that knocked your socks off?
  8. Tell me how you met your significant other. If you don’t have one, then tell me the funniest joke you remember!
  9. What is your routine for a brand new book idea?
  10. Lollipops or jolly ranchers?
  11. What is your favorite kind of salad?

True Connection updates

So, I have a teeny tiny update, some news, something to share... I'm sure you got that from the post title.

Something to share: The wonderful girls at Crazy Book Chicks are doing several giveaways, one of them being one where you can win Lily; The Witch Hunter by Emma Hart IF you add True Connection to your GoodReads shelf. Add it here

Teeny tiny update: Edits are moving's a slow process at the moment but we're fine tuning and retuning it's nearly headache inducing sometimes.

First things first.

Such good news yea?

There's more! The blurb for the back cover has been edited and I love it now so I thought I'd share it here AGAIN!

‘It’s more than a fight for my life. It’s a fight for my soul and my soul mate.’

Jazzy Williams is not your average coffee-loving teen. She's trying to deal with the recent deaths of her father and sister, her famous uncle’s fans, an overprotective big brother, and a depressed mother, all while trying to make friends at her new school. In the first week, she meets a gorgeous green-eyed hottie who turns out to be more than just some high school crush - he's more than human. And she unknowingly enrages a very dangerous breed of immortal who wants her soul or life as payment. With the help of supernatural friends and protectors, Jazzy thinks she's safe until what remains of her family is put in danger. Does Jazzy have what it takes to save her family, life, soul and soul mate, or will all be lost?

I have to say this one last thing before I post this.

Oh, and I have to say a huge thank you to my simply amazing friends and family for putting up with me as well. I'm kind of crazy to begin with...add my FIRST novel being in the hands of my editor...that makes me ready for the looney bin!
If you're reading'll know EXACTLY who you are. You keep me sane and I love you tons!

I also hope that you all will love Jazzy to bits. She's getting excited to meet all of you! (sounds crazy right?)
